Charles Wesley Godwin Biography and Gruene Hall History
Charles Wesley Godwin is a singer-songwriter from West Virginia whose country and folk sound draws on Appalachian roots, vivid storytelling, and a rugged vocal style. His music connects traditional country influences with contemporary Americana, making a live performance a natural fit for the intimate, dance-hall setting of Gruene Hall.
Godwin's songs include “Family Ties,” “Seneca Creek,” and “All Again,” with albums such as How the Mighty Fall helping establish his place in modern roots music. The supplied event listing places his Gruene Hall date on October 22, 2023, with Dylan Gossett also listed in the lineup. No additional past performance dates at this venue are confirmed in the provided information.
Built in 1878, Gruene Hall is known as Texas' oldest continually operating dance hall. Its wooden interior and central dance floor offer a distinctive backdrop for country and folk shows. For visitors following sanantonio-tickets.com, this Concerts listing in the Country / folk category brings together a touring singer-songwriter and a landmark New Braunfels venue.
Venue and Seating Information
Gruene Hall is an informal historic music venue rather than a traditional theater, so guests should not expect assigned arena-style seats. The open wooden dance floor sits in front of the stage, with tables and chairs along the sides and a covered outdoor area offering additional places to sit or watch.
For a seated view, the tables along the dance floor's sides are a practical choice; arriving early can help guests find a preferred spot. Those who want the energetic, close-up dance-hall atmosphere can head to the floor near the stage. The venue's classic layout is part of its character, but standing-room areas may be less suitable for anyone seeking an uninterrupted seated view.
Parking Information
Parking in the historic Gruene area is listed as free, with lots within walking distance of the hall. Availability can vary, and the overflow lot across the street may be partly limited depending on construction, so arriving early is a sensible option for popular shows.

GREAT BULLS!!!
The bull riders were very competitive and they had some amazing fighters!!! The biggest down fall is bull bulls!! The guys that need to attend to the riders coming out of the gate I understand were not interactive with the crowds but I have defiantly seen better bull fighters that really put on their own show in between rides!! There needs to be something in between. Unfortunately our seats were way up and the sound system for the bull fighter who had the headphone was very hard to even hear. Would I go again, heck yes!!! Love the sport and live the lifestyle!!!
